Avleen K Mokha (she/her/hers), also known as Mirabel, is a Montreal-based poet who grew up in Mumbai, India. Avleen holds a B.A. in English Literature and Linguistics from McGill University and was the 2019 winner of McGill’s Peterson Memorial Prize for Creative Writing. Her works have appeared in carte blanche, Déraciné Magazine, and Dream Pop, among others. Avleen is also the author of the poetry chapbook DREAM FRAGMENTS (Cactus Press 2020). Presently, Avleen works as a freelance writer and editor. Avleen has been a staff member of Persephone's Daughters since the magazine's inception in 2015. Currently, Avleen edits both poetry and prose submissions, serves as a literary liaison, and a member of the magazine's developmental committee.
