yiscah invents a shadow.
gives it a face, family, everything
except a name. she opens
her legs and molts
in the static, lanugo curling
on the mattress, skin resting
at her thighs.
yiscah turns off
the light; lies almost still,
buries herself in a new kind of shaking.
