From the director: My short film "Nanny" shows western audiences the practice of arranged marriage in China. I hope through the film, women can sympathize with what my nanny had to go through, living in a society limited by tradition and lack of social freedom.

Kathy Meng graduated with a BFA from New York University’s film program in 2016. She minored in Art History. "Nanny" is her first major directorial effort and the culmination of her film education. She is currently developing her next short film "Air Rehab." Kathy grew up in Beijing and the suburbs of Boston. Professionally, she works for TV producer Brandon Milbradt. In the past, she has worked at the film production companies A24 Films, The Weinstein Company, Taihe Media, and LeTV.
