The earth turns away
from women watching them-
selves being looked at;
what happens next
will take place within the walls
of light and time,
a reminder of nothing
certain in dark circumstances;
forgetting becomes definite,
an exhaustion.
Peace, a space we no longer
know how to inhabit.
