Give me somewhere I can bleed
Give me a basin
a raisin
a reed
Give me a minute to paint my face
with the years that have taken hold of me
Let me howl
I will scream
I will tear out your eyes
and rip out your spine with my teeth
devouring the hands
of every man
who has ever dared pity me
Here is agony
anger untamed by venomous peace
fire or chain
Have me unleashed
I can wound with my grief like mud
like love
like ivory
Give me a tongue
I will feast upon suns
I will give you a reason to fall at my feet
for wolves are still wolves
when you pull back the fleece
