From the director: TW: eating disorders, bullying "performing my real truth" is part of an on-going series of films that empower survivors of eating disorders to see their experiences reflected in the media in appropriate complexity, while combatting stigma and creating space to talk about how to re-establish the sovereignty of women's bodies in an economically, emotionally, culturally, and physically violent era.

Anna Swanson is a filmmaker, currently based in Portland, Oregon. She makes experimental scholarly creative nonfiction, and is most interested in using the camera as a relational and dialogical catalyst for ethical collaborative representations of humans, and for using critique to inspire social change. Her work has been exhibited internationally and in the US. She holds a B.A. in Cinema and Media Studies from Carleton College, and an MFA in Film/Video Production from the University of Iowa.
